The Kosovo Philharmonic Orchestra was founded after the last war in Kosovo in 2000 at the initiative of some distinguished Kosovar musicians. Initially as an arcade ensemble and later a chamber orchestra, the Philharmonic of Kosovo undoubtedly represents the continuity of the work of the former Radio Symphony Orchestra of Pristina Radio Television (established in 1975) whose activity was violently violated by the Serbian regime in 1990.

The Choir of the Philharmonic of Kosovo is a professional ensemble with 50 members, which represents the continuation of the work of the Professional Choir of Radio Television Pristina, which developed its activity in the 1980-1990 period under the direction of conductor Rafet Rudi. The Kosovo Philharmonic Choir repertoire includes works of different stylistic times from the Renaissance to the works of contemporary music composers.
